If you want to make some money online, you are in the right place. I’ll explain you my journey and experience to online marketing. To better understand where am I coming from, let me first introduce myself. I am married, one son and live in the beautiful and sunny Southern California, City of La Habra, 12 miles away from Disneyland, Anaheim.
December 1999 emigrated to US with dreams for a better life. Considered myself a reliable, credible, hardworking guy, having a Metallurgical Engineering degree, I gave myself a chance to provide a more secure future for my beautiful wife and my 11 years old son.
Beginning of the USÂ journey
Having $200.00 in my pocket, as initial capital, I started my journey to fulfilling the American Dream with a $10.00/hour first job in consumer electronics service industry. As most emigrants, I was the only provider for the family since my wife had very limited English skills and could not get a job. Soon enough she discovered the Mall and you can imagine my strong desire to make extra income, to be able to offer her things she wanted, on top of struggling to provide the ends meet. Not to mention my son also as Middle School student, discovered Gamecube, X-Box and other playing devices I could not afford. These things were tormenting my brain as a loving husband and father.
I care for my family
Permanently I had in my mind the idea I need to do something to supplement my income. My first trial was real estate business since it was so promising. I found some guys online who provided me a printed manual teaching me how to identify distressed properties at the County Registrar Recorder. American Real Estate business with a lot of new specific industry terms, was a totally new domain and kind of difficult to understand for me, a recent emigrant. After 6 months I quit doing it since I needed a mentor I could not afford.
I loved computers and my current job was related, so I decided to try PC repair industry. I had to have certifications to be considered by any employer so I purchased online CDs containing the whole curriculum to pass the exams. in 2004, after one and a half year of self-study, I passed the A+ and Network+ certification exams, qualifying me for the entry level positions in IT industry. These certificates helped me, with my current position at that time, to get more business with Sony electronics. On a personal level, income wise, I learned that the pay was similar to what I was making with my current employer. Changing employer was not an option due to my immigration status. I was on a 7 years contract with my current employer should he decide to keep me. I had to have the Computer repair business as my plan B.
September 2005 I decided to go back to college to advance my career and started my Mechanical Engineering Master Degree program. The plan was that by the time of graduation I should have the Green Card status granted, which actually happened, and would give me the freedom to pursue any career I wanted. Having an American engineering degree must make it easier for any employer to consider me as valid candidate for their engineering openings, was my thinking. Graduated in 2010 and big hopes started to rise up in my mind, but as we all know economy took a deep plunge in 2008 and recovery was still far away. Having my new degree I stared applying to different positions sending hundreds of resumes with no results. Being an immigrant, speaking with a little accent, limited communication skills, was and still is another hurdle to overcome.
You do understand that all this college program and all the other certificates and learning was done after hours, keeping my daytime job, leaving no time for family, hobbies or other activities except Church. I’ve been a consistent Church goer all along.
What else to do but keep learning.
- 2011 went back to College and took a certificate class in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- 2011 fall semester took another certificate class in Project Management
- 2012 took a certificate class in SolidWorks a Computer Added Design program
Still no interviews, no jobs so I tried another business. I joined World Financial Group, a great company with awesome opportunities to make loads of money for the right type of personality. Weekends and after hours, I was trying to sell life insurance. Abundant free training and support but after one year of attending trainings, meetings, events, I realized it is not for me. I am an introvert, barely able to speak to strangers, not sociable, poor communication skills, having an accent and my wife made it clear It’s time to stop. She was right as always.
Light at the end of the tunnel
March 2013 finally an employer made me an offer for a six figure income I was waiting for, for so many years. I got the job but the joy was short lived since one year later they had to let me go due to some financial distress they were having. This job was 1.5 hours daily commute and 11-11.5 hours /day M-F. Good money but no private life, still no complaints.
After 6 months on unemployment another engineering position was offered and accepted. Short commute, way less pay than my previous job, but business hours are convenient 7:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Congratulations for bearing with me so far because this is where it’s getting good.
Now I am still employed but retirement is not that far away, maybe 7-10 years in the corporate world if I can keep the job. After 15 years in USA, through all the jobs I had, I was not able to save anything for retirement. Relying on social security income only is the last option I could think of and this is a good reason for concern. My wife never had a job in US, so retirement does not look very good for me and my family. I still have to do something about it.
More than 10 years ago I realized the huge power of internet and the immense potential of making a living online. Due to limited budget, time, knowledge, family responsibilities, you name it, I did nothing but kept dreaming of having an online business,
End of August 2015 I stumbled upon a YouTube video from Gerard, Chris and Marrilee presenting the Laptop life style they are enjoying since they joined Six Figure Mentors founded by Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek. Initially skeptic but I joined and the rest is history.
I just walked you through my life story trying to prove I am a genuine guy, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve, to do the best I can to provide for my family and overcome difficulties. I was raised with the idea that a higher education will always pay off, and it does, but not in all circumstances…
To conclude, I am a US emigrant with plenty of education, years of work experience in multiple industries in the corporate world, but average income. Today’s technology made it easier than ever for the average Joe to make a living on line. With 1.5 billion members as of June 2015 and 986 million users logging in daily, Facebook (Source Facebook) only is one great marketing platform. So many people are waiting to learn from mine and yours valuable expertise, ideas, vision, experiences, personality and we can monetize.
Once I joined Six Figure Mentors I realized this is the real deal. The tools, training, support, community, are above expectations and on top of all, the price is acceptable. All you need is commitment, dedication, endurance to follow the program, little patience and success is coming. You don’t need to be an expert on marketing, you just need to be yourself and everything else is learnable.

In the meantime let me tell you about my love for mountain trails hiking.
